Our Safeguarding and Child Protection Link Governor is Ms L Gobin (Vice Chair).
Our school is part of a project which is run between Merseyside schools and Merseyside Police.
The project called Operation Encompass, has been designed to provide early reporting of any domestic violence incidents that occur outside school, which might have an impact on a child in school. This is done through a notification to school following an incident. The project ensures that at least one member of the school staff, known as the Key Adult, is trained to liaise with the police and to use the information that has been shared, in confidence. In this way, we aim to support each child who has been involved in, or witnessed, a domestic abuse incident.
Operation Encompass is a national police and education early intervention safeguarding partnership which supports children and young people who experience Domestic Violence and Abuse and which is in place in every police force in England and Wales.
Children were recognised as victims of domestic abuse in their own right in the 2021 Domestic Abuse Act.
Operation Encompass means that the police will share information with our school about all police attended Domestic Abuse incidents which involve any of our children PRIOR to the start of the next school day.
Once a Key Adult (DSL) and their deputy/ies (DDSLs) have attended either an Operation Encompass briefing or completed the online Operation Encompass Key Adult training they will cascade the principles of Operation Encompass to all other school staff and Governors. All schools staff and Governors can undertake the online training.
Mrs McKeon and Mrs Roberts are our Key Adults and last undertook their Operation Encompass training in May 2025.

How we keep safe at Robins Lane
At Robins Lane Community Primary School, keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility. We want every child to feel safe, listened to, valued and confident to speak to an adult if something is worrying them.
We teach our children that no worry is too small and that they should always keep telling someone until they feel heard and supported. This includes worries about things happening in school, at home or online, as well as anything that makes them feel worried, sad, scared or uncomfortable.
Our children know that they can talk to any trusted adult in school, including their teacher, teaching assistant, lunchtime staff, office team or a member of our Safeguarding Team.
We encourage our children to:
Speak up if something doesn't feel right.
Ask for help when they need it.
Tell an adult if someone hurts, upsets or worries them.
Tell an adult if someone asks them to keep a secret that makes them uncomfortable.
Keep telling until someone understands and helps.
Look out for their friends and speak up if they are worried about someone else.
Remember that if someone hurts or upsets them, it is never their fault.
Our safeguarding team is always here to listen, help and keep children safe.
